Our calling and purpose is to worship God in
Spirit and in truth and to lead others into God's presence through
worship. In the process of doing this, you will meet many new
friends and form lasting and meaningful relationships. As part of
the Music Ministry you will also have many opportunities of service and
ministry other than our Sunday morning worship experiences. You
will have the joy of leading worship, encouraging and influencing people
in worship beyond the walls of this church. This will be an
exciting journey! Please know that what we are about is WORSHIP,
not performance. We are called to be worshipers - not to do
worship.
How You Can Get Involved:
Celebration Choir
The Celebration Choir leads worship regularly on
Sundays and sings in special concerts, worship services and events.
Choir rehearsal happens on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm in the
sanctuary. Through the Celebration Choir, opportunities for
service include soloists, worship team singers and worship leaders.
God has given us opportunities to lead worship beyond the walls of West
Point.
West Point Praise Band
The West Point Praise Band plays a
vital role in worship leadership. We play in services, as well as
special events throughout the year. Instrumentalists desiring to
play in the West Point Band should contact the Worship Ministry office
at 828-287-0165 or email at
wpbcmusic@westpointbaptist.org.
Children's Choir Ministry
We offer Children's Choir for children ages
3 years through 5th grade. We want to lay a firm foundation as we
teach our children at an early age to love music and develop a desire to
worship the Lord Jesus through music. We teach Jesus in our
children's music ministry to help them begin a journey of praise and
worship through music. From the lips of children He has ordained
praise! Our Children's Choir meets on Sunday evenings at 6:30pm.
